Here is what students, past and present have to say about studying with Curt
Curt Moore is a terrific drum teacher and an exceptional performer. His lifelong experience beginning with award-winning drum and bugle corps, his study with world class drummers and a lifetime as a professional musician, allows him to teach and communicate in a highly effective manner. In addition, his dedication to a wide array of drum genres makes for interesting and challenging lessons.

The challenges Mr. Moore presents me with during lessons have only furthered my percussive knowledge during the time that I’ve taken lessons, I’ve grown as a musician, and everyone around me has noticed. Mr. Moore’s personality and skill make drum lessons fly by; I really enjoy leaving the lesson, feeling like I’ve progressed

I had been playing drums for a while before taking lessons with Curt, and still, the first time I walked into the drum studio my perspective on drumming had completely changed. My eyes were opened to the essence of simplicity, the key skill of body movement, and always playing with a feel. Curt is a very patient teacher and is always ready to help, regardless of the matter. Auditions, recordings, and just simple questions are always answered. Curt helped me improve each and every part of the skillset I had for drums, and continued to push me to new limits in order to help me get better. Curt is a professional musician of the highest class, and I have learned a lot. The 45-minute commute to the lesson every weekend has always been worth it. I highly recommend Mr. Moore as a teacher, mentor, and all-around great person. There is no better teacher in the Bay Area, and you will always be fully prepared and pushed to your best ability under Curt Moore.

Working with Curt the past year has been instrumental to my ability as a drummer. Not only does he teach you all of tools you’ll need to be the drummer YOU want to be, he also teaches you discipline as a musician that can be applied many places whether it be practice or life. Not once have I ever walked out of a lesson not having felt challenged for the hour I was there, and that’s what a good lesson should be, challenging but extremely rewarding.

I have been a student of Curt Moore for many years and it is a great experience to see how much love and passion he has for teaching and passing all his knowledge to those who also have passion and love for the music! Curt has a talent to deliver his knowledge to each individual in many different ways. I have been doing a lot of rudimental studies, readings, and have been introduced to a variety of many different cultures that represent many different styles of music which helped me to identify, react and be capable of utilizing it! Curt Moore is number one on my list.

Studying with Curt has been invaluable to my growth and development as a drummer and musician. Not only did he help me to learn strong fundamental tendencies, like good hand technique and getting good sound out of the instrument, but he also taught me about different styles of music that I would otherwise know absolutely nothing about. I cannot count how many times I’ve thought, ‘Were it not for Curt, I would have no idea how to approach this musical situation’! He’s one of the best educators I’ve had the pleasure to study with.
